How do you know when you're imbalanced?

Imbalance can be seen in the form of anxiousness, lack of sleep, and inflammation in the skin (e.g. redness).  

In excess, the dry and rough qualities may manifest themselves as dry or brittle skin, lips, hair, nails, or bones (e.g. osteoporosis), as constipation, or as feeling “dry” emotionally.

Finding your balance.

LIFESTYLE

Rest is the number one medicine for calming you down. We recommend sleeping at regular hours of the day with at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Regularity is the name of the game; keep to a consistent schedule to stay grounded.

EXERCISE

If exercising, create balance with non-competitive activities like yoga, hiking, and swimming. Meditation is key, so remember to get your Zen on.

DIET

- Smooth, moist, sweet and warm foods will be soothing.

- Avoid an excess of raw, dry, spicy foods (e.g. bread) alcohol and caffeine.

- Grains (like oats and rice), soups, sweet fruits (like figs, coconuts, apricots) ghee and cooked vegetables are great meal options.

- Drink room temperature water, not iced or boiling hot.
