The Creative Leader

Straddling two worlds that intersect both air (creative) and fire (assertive) elements, this constitution leads an active lifestyle and typically are Type A, driven, and focused.

When balanced, they have control over their routines and have a “good tension” between right and left brain endeavors (e.g. creative hobbies, balanced with a more serious 9-5 job). Imbalance can show in the form of anger, stress, insomnia and oily skin. Based on Ayurvedic principles, this constitution is also known as Vata-Pitta.

A healthy person with this dual constitution is fun, loving, passionate and full of ideas. They are jet-setters with a purpose. They have the ability to be keenly insightful while also holding the big picture in view. They are go-getters driven by intensity.

The Creative Leader

How do you know when you're imbalanced?

Imbalance can be seen in the form of anxiousness, lack of sleep, and inflammation in the skin (e.g. redness).

In excess, the dry and rough qualities may manifest themselves as dry or brittle skin, lips, hair, nails, or bones (e.g. osteoporosis), as constipation, or as feeling “dry” emotionally.

Lifestyle
Rest is the number one medicine for calming you down. We recommend sleeping at regular hours of the day with at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Regularity is the name of the game; keep to a consistent schedule to stay grounded.
Exercise
If exercising, create balance with non-competitive activities like yoga, hiking, and swimming. Meditation is key, so remember to get your Zen on.
Diet
- Smooth, moist, sweet and warm foods will be soothing - Avoid too much raw, dry, spicy foods (e.g. bread) and too much alcohol and caffeine - Grains (like oats and rice), soups, sweet fruits (like figs, coconuts, apricots) ghee and cooked vegetables are great meal options - Room temperature water, not iced or boiling hot
